I’ve put this post under the “Canal Sludge” tab of Frank’s Buffalo Born Babble because this is a catch-all drawer of dredged-up creations from days gone by.
One of my steadier gigs was researching, writing, and drawing infographics for Creators Syndicate. That work has slowed to a trickle, but I have a vast archive of material to share here. Time permitting, of course.
If you hopped over here from my editorial cartoon about fertilizer prices, this link will take you back.

Picked dandelions with my Grandfather … flowers for the dandelion wine and the bitter green stems for dinner … not my fav though!
As a little kid i got tipsy from dandelion wine that was in the process of being made.
We did not manage to afford a lot of fruit that was not growing wild, and when i saw such fruit floating atop the wine at my aunt and uncle’s farm it was a great temptation. It was not a big vat since they were making it just for family, so even a tiny child like i was could reach in and fetch out yummy slices of fruit. The more i ate the better they tasted. I can not recall what dandelion wine tastes like, but i still adore most fruits!
