This is a great post, and thanks for introducing me to Frank Pauer. I'm sure I've seen his work but never connected it with his name, and now I have a new favorite. You're right to call out his hatching, it's sublime!
I also like his gags, and in the last one caught that "...Mrs. Kotzky in 3-G" is a reference/tribute/callout to cartoonist Alex Kotzky who did the comic strip "Apartment 3-G."
Well, i am not an artist and my writing is like hen-scratch, so forgive a comment from the ignorant part of the gallery audience, but his sketches feel to me like calligraphy as images. I appreciate that.
Frank is a wonderful guy and very talented. Thanks for the piece.
It was my pleasure to shine a light on his work. Top shelf stuff!
Love his line work.

Thx for the words of agreement. His drawings deserve a crisp 600 dpi scan to better appreciate his hatching.

Great description! As mentioned Frank’s design sensibilities are superior.
I know Frank and Janet well. I've always liked his style. The designer in him shows.
He's awesome!
